What Does Your Hand Palm Say About Your Health

ORANGE/YELLOW PALMS
-Carotenemia:

As healthy as carrots are known to be, eating too much of them will make your hands look orange or they might obtain a yellowish color, this will happen when the vitamin, Beta Carotene is being consumed in large amounts. Other sources of Carotene that we also like to include in our diet are: squash, sweet potato, pumpkin, spinach, beans, corn and yams.
Carotenemia has also been linked with hypothyroidism, diabetes mellitus, anorexia nervosa, liver disease, and renal disease.
-Lycopenemia:
This is the orange-red discoloration of the skin and it is the result of excessive intake of tomatoes and beets.


RED PALMS
-Liver damage:

-The redness is more noticeable on the outer edge of the palms: from the wrist to the little finger. The redness is believed to be the blood vessels dilating due to the fact that the hormone balance caused by the liver disease is changing.

- Cyanosis : Heart failure



BEADED NAILS
-Rheumatoid arthritis: joints have not become swollen or painful.

-Vasculitis: inflammation of the blood vessels under the nail bed caused by arthritis.
