Ice cream in the morning? This superfood breakfast bowl tastes like dessert while loading you up with high-octane nutrition.
1 frozen banana, sliced (keep peeled, sliced bananas in your freezer so you always have a supply for smoothies and breakfast bowls)
1/4 c. blueberries
1/4 to 1/2 c. almond milk
1 Tbsp. maca powder
1 Tbsp. açaí powder
1 Tbsp. maqui powder
1/4 tsp. camu camu powder
1/2 c. granola (preferably homemade and superfood-boosted)
1 Tbsp. coconut flakes
1 Tbsp. cacao nibs
1 Tbsp. goji berries
Pulse the frozen banana and blueberries in a food processor with just a splash of the almond milk. Once the fruit falls apart, scrape the sides of the bowl and add the rest of the milk. It should thicken like frozen yogurt. Stop the food processor and add the powders. Pulse until the mixture turns dark purple. Spoon into a bowl and top with the granola, coconut flakes, cacao nibs, and gojis.
Once you get the hang of it, swap in different superfoods, like pomegranate powder instead of the açaí, or raw-cherry powder, which helps with inflammation, instead of the maqui. If you're looking for more detoxifying effects, add 1/4 teaspoon chlorella along with the other powders.
