If you’re a follower of the modelling world in India, you sure have heard of the gorgeous Paloma Monnappa. Originating from Karnataka, this half Coorgi half Tibetan has taken the hearts of the youth by storm.
Besides her obviously stunning looks, Monnappa is one of the few multi-talented models out there. Monnappa has acted in the Malayali movie Neelakasham, Pachakadal, Chuvanna, Bhoomi as well as in quite a few music videos. Monappa is also an avid surfer and a skilled DJ.
Monnappa’s weight loss story and transition into modelling is quite inspirational. Monnappa, allegedly, dropped a whopping 45 pounds to grab the headlines and make her way into the ever competitive modelling world.

Does Paloma Monnappa use Garcinia Cambogia for weight loss?

Monnappa is said to have used the highly popular yet controversial weight loss supplement Garcinia Cambogia aka Malabar Tamarind for her weight loss transition.
The fruit from which the supplement is extracted from, is rich in Hydroxycitric Acid. The claim is that it blocks citrate lyase, the fat forming enzyme, reduce appetite as well as reduce insulin and sugar levels.
Despite the popularity, the evidence is somewhat lacking. Firstly the side effects include headaches, dizziness and diarrhoea. Moreover, there just aren’t enough success stories to live up to the hype. A few percentage of users have shown signs of weight loss, but there was no evidence that it was due to the product and not changes in diet or fitness routine.

Coming back to Monappa’s diet, she follows a pretty flexible diet plan. Although, she follows a few very basic principles for every meal.

Carbs and Sugars

One strict policy is keeping the carbs and starchy foods in check. Any amount of carbs would be from vegetables and low sugar fruits. These include berries, kiwis, grapefruit and watermelon.

Protein and Fats

A simple yet effective principle for any diet plan and meal. A source of protein. Every major meal must have protein. Plus, considering such a highly active lifestyle that Monnappa leads, it is essential to maintain the lean muscle while also being strong.
Another important part of the meal are fats. Monappa makes sure there are adequate amount of natural fats in every meal to keep her macros intact.

Vegetables

Monappa’s diet is filled with highly nutritious but low carb Vegetables. Broccoli, spinach, Asparagus, avocados (natural fats) and kale are some of the big guns of her diet.

Fitness Routine

Contrary to popular belief, weight training is much more efficient for weight loss than pure cardio. Its also the only way to keep a toned body with appropriate lean muscle mass.
That’s what Monnappa successfully accomplishes. Monnappa weight trains 3 times a week. While this is mostly with dumbbells and kettlebells, she also does strength training for overall muscle build.

Monnappa also has a few sessions of light cardio for conditioning. Walking, running and cycling are the main activities here.
As you’ve read in the intro, Monnappa is a trained surfer and is known to escape to islands to surf to her heart’s content.
