10 Ways to Increase Energy

1. Exercise more
Exercise is an essential part of a fit body. It is one of the most effective solutions for lower energy levels. A study conducted by Archives of Sexual Behaviour stated that the more fit you become because of exercise, the more energy you’ll have for sex.

2. Limit fat
Fat is a part of a balanced diet, however over consumption of fat leads to high cholesterol levels which impact the circulation of blood. Go for a diet with limited amount of fat to avoid easily getting tired.

3. Drink cold water
Drinking ice cold water and splashing it on your face speeds up the transition from comatose to conscious. According to the author of From Fatigue to Fantastic, cold triggers adrenaline which leads to faster pumping of the heart and increases blood flow to the brain.

4. Munch on protein
Grab a snack with at least 10 grams of protein. Protein helps to secrete a peptide called CCK in your gut. It stabilizes cortisol and insulin levels for hours. Two hard boiled eggs can be ideal.

5. Cue up your I-pod
Research has shown that people who listen to music can run about 15% longer than people who don’t. Music gives you motivation and helps you feel happier which leads to higher energy levels.

6. Take a power Nap
Taking a power nap during the day is helpful for maintaining energy levels. It not only relaxes you but refreshes your testosterone levels, which leads to more energy between the sheets.

7. Stay hydrated
Doctors and scientists agree that staying hydrated during the day is a key component to being healthy and feeling more energized. A hydrated body does not feel tire as easily and helps to improve your skin glow.

According to research stress is one of the biggest energy zappers. Stress can be countered by programming more relaxation time into our day like meditation and relaxation. These reduce stress and help you feel more energized.

10. Walk more
It might sound strange but it’s true, walking increases energy levels. In experiments conducted at California State University, a brisk 10 minute walk not only increased energy but the effect lasted for up to 2 hours. When daily 10-minute walks continued for three weeks, overall energy levels and mood were lifted.
